History of the Company
Bailey Contracting Inc., formerly Herbert Utilities and Excavation, was started bybailey_small Herbert Bailey (owner) in 1974. Bailey Contracting Inc. is a second generation entity in a long standing tradition of construction related business founded by Joseph Herbert Bailey over sixty years ago. Our organization maintains a solid reputation in the industry as one of the most experienced and knowledgeable in the area of utility construction- our area of expertise. We also take pride as it has been noted, “You can’t get a drink of water in Raleigh, Cary, Apex, and Burlington (NC) without it coming through a pipe that we installed.” Bailey Contracting Inc. services the Triangle and surrounding areas.
About the Owner
bailey1Herbert Bailey, President, resides in Cary with his wife, and is father to three adult children, and has several grandchildren. His hobbies include collecting and the restoration of specialty cars, antiques, traveling, and “closing the deal”. Throughout his notable career, he has received much recognition which includes: The Raleigh Chapter of the American Business Woman’s Associate as Business Man of the Year, a featured article in Entrepreneur Magazine of the Triangle, and several articles in the local newspapers.

Bailey Contracting Inc., Inc. values every subcontractor and supplier who submits a bid to us in an effort to obtain and execute work. We cannot maintain our business without the support of subcontractors and suppliers.
With this in mind, we make the following commitment:
Bailey Contracting Inc., Inc. will evaluate every proposal received for any given project fairly and on an equal basis with all comparable proposals.
We will never share your quotation with any competitor prior to the award of the project. We count on the full and open competition of quality subcontractors and suppliers and we will not jeopardize the system by providing anyone with an unfair insight into their competitions’ submissions.
